1. In your own words, what does this say?
Go for your dreams, go far and work hard to achieve your goals and even if you fail, you still tried and got somewhere.
2. What does this mean?
This quote means that if I have a dream I should try hard enough to get to where I want be successful. And even if I fail or don't end up where I wanted to be, I at least got somewhere and I can always try again.
3. Why does it matter or how can you apply this to your life?
This matters because some people don't even try to "shoot for the moon." It has come to a point where people already want to give up on their dreams without even trying. People are afraid of failing without even trying or putting in the effort to succeed and/or get somewhere.
This applies to my life in many ways. I can apply this to my life by taking the hard way into succeeding. For example, I should challenge myself a lot more. I can try harder and not give up so quickly. And even if I do fail or don't get to where I wanted to be but I can always try again and again.
5. How are the quote and video similar?
The quote and video are both similar in many ways. They both are giving the message of trying and going for what we want like our goals, achievements, etc. But even if we fail with what we're trying to do, we can always get back up and try again.
6. Why does this matter and/or how can you apply this concept to your life to make it better?
The message that the video is giving is that "nothing just happens." And what that means is that everything that we go through and whatever happens in our lives happens for a reason. Everything happens for a good reason and cause. It is to make us stronger and to build on and grow from all those hard situations.
I can apply this concept to my life in many ways. I now know that everything that happens and that I go through my life happens for a reason. I have to accept whatever I go through in my life. I can't just go through it. I shouldn't just go through it, I should grow from it.

1- This quote says that you have to shoot high, and take chances on the big things. For example, don't settle for just El Camino, apply to other UC's and CSU's. It says to take the chance, only good can come from it, real experience.
2- This means to that you have to go high. If you want to be an astronaut then go for it, it doesn't matter if it is a long journey to go through. Shooting means taking a chance, the moon represents the dream job. It's okay if you don't make it though, because along the way you might land on the stars, which means a another job, a different one that you come across from the journey to being an astronaut. It's not the dream but its pretty close, and it isn't bad either.
3- This matters because you could be called up to do something great. This matters because a person needs to get stronger, to overcome other obstacles.
4- The quote and the video are similar because they both talk avout overcoming an obstacle, ending up with success or progress. This messages differ because the quote sets a goal and rewards you with a conclusion, the moon or the stars. The video gives you something hard to overcome you do, you get results.
6- The people involved in the video were a girl named Bethany and a soldier whose name I didn't see. They both were given hard obstacles to overcome. Bethany had to overcome the loss of her left arm. She wanted to be a surfer which made it hard for her to do, not only surfing but everyday life as well. People gave her looks and things like that.
I can apply this concept to my life by overcoming anything thrown at my way. Anything that seems unfair, I'll think of as a challenge that I need to overcome. This way i can get stronger in my own way. This matters so I wouldn't drop everything as soon as one little thing gets in my way. Not only will I accept defeat but I won't get stronger if anything, maybe even weaker.

1. Set up high goals and even if you do not reach them you’ll get to a great place.
2. This quote means that you should try your hardest to reach your goals. And if you do not get to where you wanted to you can still get somewhere very close.
3. This quote matters because it is telling us that we need to try our hardest to reach our goals. Also that we should set our goals high. We need to set our goals high because if we do not we will not feel good once we accomplish them. Also if we know someone who did set their goals high and we did not we are going to feel bad about ourselves. I can apply this to my life by setting my goals very high no matter what and not giving up.
5. The quote and the video are similar because you can experience hardships when trying to reach your goals. If you experience hardships throughout your journey in achieving your goals, you should know that you will be able to overcome them all.

Even if you don't reach your goals, the effort you put into it will get you some place successful.

This quote matters because with all the goals and dreams in the world not all will come true no matter the effort put into them. But the effort put into your goals and dreams can land one in success. I will apply this to my life by reaching for my highest goals and dreams and if I don't make them come true I will keep trying until i find my success and happiness.

Both the clip and the quote are talking about different options even if one does not succeed. Like in the clip someone says “My struggles are my pathways…” as stated there is more than one pathway and not all lead to your highest goal and dream. But while the clip talk about pain and good or bad, the quote is just talking about success.

In the clip many people are talking about how nothing just happens. They talk about all the pain and suffering one goes through leads to success and a brighter future. Throughout life everyone goes through pain but we as people get to choose what to do with that pain and one choice is to grow up and be successful.
Throughout history people have gone through tragedies, disasters, many devastations but with all that pain people choose what to do after it all passes over. They can either live and give in to the pain or they can learn and grow from the pain and thrive and become successful. People should learn how to deal with the pain and grow from it. I will apply this to my life to remind myself no matter how bad the situation or time there will always be a ton of chances to succeed and live a long and happy life.

Alway set a high goal. Even if you don’t reach it you’ll still be up there.

This means that a person should always aim high. They should also aim high and even if they don’t, they’ll get something out of it.
3. Why does this matter or how can you apply this to your life?
This matters because a person should always set a goal. Knowing that this person would give it their all, they should land somewhere. When you aim high, you give it your all so even if it does not work out a lesson is learned.
I can apply this to my life because in the world today, people are competitive. You will always want to aim high. Do the best to achieve this goal even if you don’t quite reach it. In the end something good will come out of it. Your hard work will always pay off somehow. It could be a feeling of accomplishment because you actually did good at something even though you didn’t reach your goal.

The quote and the video is similar because they both relate to the idea of failure. The messages differ because the video talks about going through pain and the quote is about not achieving a goal.

The clip “Nothing Just Happens,” is about failing and what becomes of it. In life everyone fails and sometimes feel like giving up. A person might not know why they have to go through this pain of failure but there’s a good reason. As a person fights to go through the pain, they change. They could be more confident and be able to set higher goals.
This matters because everyone goes through pain in life. People get through it and pain is not coincidence so it may change them. I can apply this concept to my life to make it better. Even though pain is a bad thing, good things happens after bad things.

1.This says to strive for excellence. If you don't reach it you'll still gain success.
2.This means to aim high. Although you may not reach it, you will progress and grow.
3. I feel as if I should aim for more. I should aim pass my full potential so even if I fail, I will still gain progress. For example, I should aim towards owning the company instead of settling for CEO.
5.The quote is telling you to aim for the highest possible goal. The video wants you to pick yourself up after you fall.
6.This video clip meant a lot. Not only is it pushing you to do better, it's letting you know, the universe has something in store for you in return for your bad times. It's telling you to forget about everyone else's feelings and follow your own. You don't need them to succeed. You just need hope in yourself and enough of it to push yourself forward.
I need to learn to pick myself up. I can't just mope around because I fell. I need to get back up and head on my way towards success. I also need to learn how to handle situations. They all have a reason for happening. Until then I should just push through and wait for the success to begin showering on me.

3- Why does it matter or how can you apply this to your life? (1-2 paragraphs) 1-Set your goals high and even if you do not meet the goal you will still be in a very accomplished place
2-This means that it does not matter if you do not fully accomplished your goal as long as you get close to it.
3- This matters because some people don't accomplish their goals fully they don't feel complete and give up altogether.
I can apply this to my life by setting fire to reach goals so that even if I do not achieve them I may still being a very accomplished place.
5- The quote and the video are similar because they both speak about never giving up. To keep trying because you will never know where you end up.
They differ in their main topics. The quote mostly focuses on goals and what you achieve by setting higher goals. Whereas the video main idea was about my pain is important part of success.

This matters cause people go through it everyday. People live in pain everyday and they use it as a lesson to live and help others. Because with out these lessons, everyone won't shoot far enough and stay in the same boundries as others.

It means to try hard things. People grow just because of their environment.

This matters because people usually go for things they know they can achieve. They don’t put in effort when it comes to things that could actually make them successful. I can apply this to my life by shooting for things I know are above me. For, example applying to scholarships and colleges that don’t usually take students who have almost the same academic grades.

The quote and video are similar because the video is explaining to the viewers why they might miss when shooting for the stars. The messages differ because the quote is telling us to shoot for the stars and expect it if we fail, while the video is explaining to us that there is a reason we fail in life.

The clip was explaining why certain things happen to individuals. It taught the viewers that everything happens for a reason. Even though these things cause us pain we all learn from it, even if the lesson is good or bad.
This matters because it teaches individuals that failure is a pathway to success and everyone who was or is successful went through it.

1. Aim high because even if you don't reach your goal, you'll still end up somewhere successful.
2. If you have low expectations and give up before trying, you'll go nowhere, but if you set high expectations in life and stick to them you are guaranteed to gain something in life.
3. At some point in life, people will start to realize the importance of this quote. The quote teaches all of us to try because even if you don't succeed it'll still help you get somewhere in life. There are limitless opportunities out there, and if you don't try to get a hold of any, you'll end up with nothing.
This quote helps me understand that when I'm given an opportunity, I should get my hands all over it. For example, if I don't attempt to get scholarships, I might not be able to pay for college and therefore these scholarships somewhat represent the stars, or opportunities, mentioned in the quote.
5. The video is similar to the quote because they both share a main theme when the video mentioned how wasted potential is caused by fear. The main theme of the quote is saying that those who are scared to endeavor, all their chances of becoming successful will disappear. The video states otherwise because the video wants to motivates us to get back up from a fall.
6. The video "Nothing Just Happens" is an inspirational video used to get people to give it a shot because even if you don't reach your goal you become mature and more prepared for future obstacles. Nothing that happens to you is a coincidence; as long as you get up from a fall you'll end up successful.
The video positively motivates me to give it my all because it's better to fail knowing you tried rather than giving up. The video shows that there isn't just one chance for something, but if you you give up you'll never get another chance.

3.This matters because people shoot and or aim high but when they land somewhere else they take it as a failure .Others see it as “I may have not gotten the moon but i’m with the stars”.I apply this to my life by may not shoot for the moon but always get to the stars but it’s okay .It’s somewhere i will get to but not as close as i think .For wanted an A in my geometry grade but didn’t get it i got a B instead it's okay it still up there.
5.They are similar by aiming for high goals,expectations ,and finally dreams.They are different because one is talking about aiming for your goals and the other is growing through your pain and developing character.
6.so basied upon my understanding visulization i can infer that nothing just happens.Key words to the clip good or bad you must bath your self in these words nothing just happens. That you’ll go through tough times .But you’ll grow through your pain developing yourself as you embrace that pain.
So how i apply this to life is i embrace pain. All of my failures and pain i develop that into my self to form character .Good and bad times it has help me perform well in the past and it is helping from this moment. For example when i was a child i wasn’t quite interested in doing homework or anything at all but seeing me fail and struggle through those fail made me realize something . I had to change for the better so i did and i like what i was becoming looking back at my failures changed me.

Aim hard for your goals. Even if you don’t get exactly what you wanted, you’ll get something good out of it.
This means that you always have to try your best even if don’t know for sure what the outcome will look like. You have to keep in mind that at least you’ll be happy for putting in all your effort and maybe you’ll learn something from it.
This matters because you have to put in all your effort to get to your goal. You can’t just quit because then you’ll wonder for the rest of your life what would’ve happened if you just took a chance. And if it doesn’t turn out the way you wanted at least you got to experience it and learn something new.
I can apply this to my life by making it my daily inspiration to just take a chance
And reach for my goals. I also have to remember that something good can out of it if

This video is speaking to everyone because everyone has gone through hard times. Through these hard times you will feel like giving up but if you give up you will never get to the brighter side. The brighter side is change and change can be a good thing. Pain leads to relief and closure. Closure is the way you feel after a big challenge.
This is a big deal because everyone goes through challenges in their lives. THese challenges happen for a reason and that reason is to help you. It may even help you discover skills you didn’t know about.

1. This quote says to shoot for your goals, but even if you miss the chance to, you'll gte much more opportunities to try again. Moon equals goals, stars equals second chances.
2. It means that if you attempt to reach your goals in life, but you fail, you can still get back up and attempt it until you achieve it.
3. It matters because if I fail trying to achieve my dreams in life, it does not mean that I am horrible at it. I can just attempt it until I achieve my dreams
5. The messages and videos are similar because the messages go with the clips in the video. One speaker said "Have you ever had the point in your life where you fall and you can't get back up" while showing a clip of a person falling and not getting up.
6. I can apply this to my life by not giving up, even when I feel like I can't achieve my goals. I will also apply this to my life by making sure I can and will achieve what I really want to do in life.

In my own words, this quote says reach for your goals. Even if you come up short you were still able to put commitment into achieving it.
To me this quote means that we should always try to complete our goals. It means that its never too late to reach your goals and even if you don’t reach it, you know that you made your time worth it.
This quote matters because it can inspire oneself to reach the goals that they thought they never could have. This quote can be used to help those currently undergoing problems to give them faith & hope. We can apply this to our life by trying to live up to this quote in order to help and comfort us throughout our toughest times.
The quote and the video are similar in the sense that they are portraying that if you want to achieve something you have to push yourself towards that goal. The messages differ considering the fact that the quote was mostly saying that even if you come up short, you’ll still know that you committed yourself whereas the video shows that to reach your goals you need to push yourself over your limit.
In the YouTube video shown there were many examples of people on the verge of giving up and other’s being afraid of giving up and other’s being afraid of other people’s thoughts and opinions. The examples used are of people showing self doubt were people that may have just been fired from a job to people having a physical disability.

Make good personal goals that you know that you are able to achieve. Be in a positive environment that will not distract you from reaching your goals.

This matters because we should make goals that we know that we can achieve. By making good goals we have a better chance of achieving them. I can apply this to my life by making goals that I can achieve. For example, planning my school schedule and talking to my counsulor to help assist me.

The quote and the video are similar because the video is explaining to viewers why they might miss their goals. The messages differ from the quote because it says shoot for the stars, and expect failure, while the video is telling us that their is no reason for us to fail.
5. This clip is explaining why things happen to us individually. We learn that certain things happen for a reason. We may wonder why it happens to us, but we have to accept the fact and learn from our lessons.

1.In my own words, this quote says to try your hardest on all the things you do, even if you do not end up exactly where you wanted to be, you’ll end up in a good place.
2. This quote means to always put all your effort into everything you do. Do the best that you can do and if at the end you don’t end up where you thought you’d be remember that at least you tried and you’re probably where you’re supposed to be.
3. This quote is very important to remember because it gives hope. This quote represents effort in all that you do and “shoot for the moon”, meaning to follow your dreams. I can apply this to my life by remembering to try my hardest on whatever i'm doing, even small tasks. No matter where I end up I will know that I put all my effort, so wherever i’m at i’m meant to be.
5. The video and the quote both are motivational and talk about how you will end up in a good place if you try. Although the video shows the deeper meaning of ending up in a good place and the process of “shooting for the moon”. The video actually talks about the struggles of “shooting for the moon” and even if you don’t get to the “moon”, the place you thought you’d be you’ll land in the “stars”. The “stars”, which represents a place you end up that you didn’t want to be at but where you need to be, and the struggle will be worth it.
6. One of the motivational stories shown in the video is about a girl named Bethany Hamilton. In the video they show clips of Bethany, a girl who lost her arm in a shark attack. The clips show how she struggles with simple things like getting her groceries, which might not seem like such a difficult task but with only one arm it’s one of her hardest tasks. It also shows how she gets judged and people stare at her wherever she goes because of her missing arm. I can apply this to my life because if she can continue to surf even with her arm missing, I can remember that no matter the situation I can still have hopes and dreams for myself and accomplish them.

I feel like this quote means that you should always push yourself to be the best you can be and set high standards or motives to challenge yourself and even if you don’t reach those goals, you’ll at least get second best.
This means that you shouldn’t be close minded and set yourself out to do the bare minimum. You should challenge yourself and push yourself to complete the maximum.
This matters to me because all my life I’ve been pushing myself to do the maximum. And speaking from personal experience, whenever I did challenge myself, I’ve always gotten the best results even if I didn’t make/reach the goal I wanted.
I have been applying this concept to my life since the first time I heard it, which was probably around 9th grade. I’ve lived by this concept in ways where I have always pushed myself to complete the hardest tasks to get the best outcomes. For my sophomore year in high school, I decided to join AAA, the advanced academics academy, to challenge myself because I realized that I wanted to make myself stand out to the admissions officers at the universities I planned to apply to my senior year. I also challenged myself in ways where I applied to scholarships and programs to get myself used to writing about myself and build my resume.
4. The quote and the video are similar because they both emphasize the message that you have to push yourself and learn to accept or go through failure to get closer to your goals.
The quote and the video are different because in the quote, the author is saying that if you push yourself and set high goals, then it’s okay if you don’t reach those goals because you’ll most likely end up with second best. In the video the message is pretty much that, in order to achieve and become successful, you have to go through struggle and hardship because nothing just happens and everything is for a reason.

In the video, it shows clips, I think from a movie of some sort, of soldiers in training and working hard and then sometime in the video there’s a man that's trying to lift a big, heavy stick over his head and then there’s a girl that loses her arm, I think probably from some sort of accident. I feel like the overall message of this video was that you have to struggle to reach success. I can apply this concept to my life by continuing to push and challenge myself to do better.
